Inground Pool Vancouver
Custom inground pools are the most common type of builds that we do here at Vancouver Pool Builders. While each job slightly differs due to our builds being custom, a general process if followed for each build. In the pre-construction phase, our team looks to finalize the design of your pool, make sure all of the proper permits are set in place, and ensure the project site is ready. Once the permits are received, our team begins the excavation process and the initial plumbing is installed. As we laydown the plumbing, we begin the to put the steel reinforcing frameworks in place. The general shape of your pool is now coming to fruition as the gunite (concrete used for pool construction) starts being applied. This becomes the concrete shell for your pool and is an exciting step as you can truly see the shape of your pool. With the pool now taking shape, the area around the pool is cleaned and leveled in preparation for the deck installation. The concrete shell and deck prep are now complete and our team finishes the plumbing work which is connected between the equipment and your pool.
Once the plumbing is finalized, the electrical work and the wiring is completed. An electrical panel can be installed at this stage if needed. The time has come to install tiles around the perimeter of your pool. This is similar to flooring concepts where you have a level sub-floor underneath the regular flooring you have installed in your home. Installing your deck is a very exciting step of the process as you are free to customize this portion however you wish. Stamped concrete or natural stone can create an amazing finish alongside your new custom pool. We are now coming to the final stages of your pool where we water proof and apply the finish to the surface. You have some options here depending on what you ordered. Your pool is all ready for start-up and the final step is to go over all of the features and function of your pool. After answering any last questions you might have your brand new custom inground pool is ready for its first swim. |
Infinity Pool Vancouver
Infinity pools have become a very desired design for those that are looking to add a luxurious piece to their homes. Infinity pools can also be known as negative edge, zero edge, disappearing edge, or infinity edge pools. You may have seen these types of pools and hotels and resorts but they are getting increasingly popular in residential homes as well. How the "infinity" effect is made is done through a little bit of ingenious creativity and engineering. With a normal swimming pool, the pool walls are all higher than the water level so the water is contained and stays within the pool. An infinity edge pool on the other hand, has one or more pool walls that are built to be the same height as the water level so they are not able to be seen. These walls are designed to be sloped away from the pool, which causes the water to fall downwards like a waterfall. This water is actually caught in a holding tank which is built below the edge of the infinity wall so it is invisible when you are looking at it from the pool. The water that goes into the holding tank is pumped back into the pool to ensure it remains full and no water is wasted.
When building an infinity pool, the type of site and landscape you have can play a major factor into how it is constructed. They can be fully in-ground if the ground has a natural slope. If site does not have a slope, a slope must be created artificially which means the pool will have to be built partially or above ground. Due to these reason, infinity pools are a great fit for sloping sites. A slope coupled with a nice backdrop can create some absolutely stunning views from your pool. If having an infinity pool installed has ever crossed your mind, feel free to give us a call to book a consultation. You want an experienced pool builder who prior infinity pool experience as the construction and engineering behind it can be quite complicated. Our pool contractors are some of the best in the industry and we would be more than happy to take on any infinity pool project. |
